- Launched in 1959, the W111 was quickly dubbed the Heckflosse (Fintail) in Germany
- This right-hand drive car was fully prepared for historic rallying in 1999 by Martin Cushway
- A new engine was sourced in Germany in 1999 and rebuilt in 2006
- Specification includes a full roll-cage, front disc brakes, underside skid protection, fire extinguishers, full safety harness / belts, race / rally front seats, upgraded suspension with Bilstein shocks, heavy-duty springs together with the addition of an upgraded torsion bar
- Complete with a Brantz timer and other rally-related equipment
- Has successfully competed in major regularity rallies since 1999 including the Monte Carlo Challenge , HERO Le Jog, Historic Van Vlaandern, The Scottish Malts and The Three Castles
- A fast, powerful and sure-footed rally car with an element of comfort thrown in for that long-distance rally, there is even room for a suitcase or two !
- Has formed part of a small eclectic collection in recent years and used sparingly of late so an element of recommissioning is to be expected
