Full description
First registered in 1964. Bought in 1965 by Jim Loveday, who modified it into an all purpose competition car.
Purchased by Gerry Brown in 1982, its first main event was the 1990 Coppa D’Italia. Two months after that, the car was borrowed by Stirling Moss, who drove it in the 3rd Pirelli Marathon from Tower Bridge to Cortina in Italy.
The next outing for Gerry and the car was to the Nürburgring - the historic GT/Saloon race at the Eiffel Klassik weekend. The result was 6th overall and 2nd in class.
Many events followed, both races and rallies.
The most recent events, after an engine rebuild, were the 2010 Classic Mountain Challenge, and finally the 2011 Winter Challenge regularity rally, which finished in Monte Carlo.
After this the car was partially dismantled, and then left, due to Gerry’s illness.
Since Gerry’s death, the car has been carefully restored, and used on track days. It drives and handles beautifully, reflecting Gerry’s engineering skills.
It is road registered. The FIA papers will need renewing, but this should be straightforward.
There is a small area of damage to the hardtop, see photo.
