Technical info

Full description

Alexis was one of the first and most prolific marques in the early days of Formula Ford, including supplying cars to the Jim Russell Racing Schools and being raced by such luminaries as James Hunt. This lovely example is one of 25 cars built for the racing school and branded as a Russell Alexis. The car has a rare Downham Market chassis plate and an Arch Motors chassis stamp.

Totally rebuilt 15 years ago and subsequently maintained to a very high standard, whilst only being used for historic hillclimbs. Initially a 2006 class champion in Formula Ford specification the car was further developed and won the historic championship outright in 2007 and 2010 in various states of tune.

The Alexis is now back Formula Ford specification except for alloy wheels and an electric fuel pump. The original steel wheels and mechanical fuel pump are in the spares package, which also includes:
• Original Armstrong shock absorbers
• Original exhaust and fuel tank
• Spare screen
• Spare engine cover (for twin Weber set up)
• Pair of rear lower suspension arms
• Fitted cover
• Sundry running spares

Complete with a detailed history file including the original chassis plate and a Motorsport Log Book. A great car ready to go on the hills or revert to Historic Formula Ford.

Easy to use, a needed approach for sure and I like the concept. Will continue to use this efficient platform and excited to hear that a new ‘drives available’ category is on the way.
