The Ex – John Surtees, 3rd in the U.S. Grand Prix 1969 BRM P139 Formula 1 is the first P139 built, driven for BRM in 1969 by new recruit, team leader and former World Champion John Surtees.

It is with great pleasure that William I'Anson Ltd are able to offer for sale such a pure and time-warp example of Formula 1’s golden era of the late 1960s.

Kept by BRM until bought by the current family owners in 1971 and retained by them in a 50 year ownership.

Used just twice since, with both occasions in the years following its acquisition, P139-01 was not seen and had not moved away from its home for 48 years until transported to our showroom.

Accompanied by the original BRM supplied spares including the original swooping rear wing, a pair of new P142 four valve cylinder heads, two BRM gearbox casings and a third rear cover, unpainted nose, and many smaller parts. The original correspondence and invoices from BRM along with original correspondence with Dunlop are retained within the file.

Presented in unrepeatable condition while having top line Formula 1 podium pedigree with the only man to be World Champion on two wheels and four.
