Technical info
Full description
The B8 is widely acknowledged as one of Derek Bennett’s finest designs. Some 44 were produced, helping to establish Chevron as a serious manufacturer of very competitive cars. The model was highly successful worldwide, from clubbies at Oulton Park to class wins in the 1969 BOAC 500 and Daytona 24 Hours. Meanwhile John Lepp’s Red Rose Racing B8 dominated the RAC British Sports Car Championship, winning the 1969 and 1970 titles.
This level of competitiveness has followed through into historic motorsport today, with the B8 being very much the car to have in several series, including HSCC’s Guards Trophy which was won overall by a B8 in 2023. Demand for B8s has been such that continuation cars have been produced for several years, with this example being the first Chevron Heritage endorsed car, being built to entirely original specification using an Arch Motors spaceframe.

The Chevron has proven to be a very consistent front-runner and most recently performed superbly in large and competitive HSCC Guards Trophy races at Snetterton (qualified and finished fourth) and Donington Park (qualified fourth and finished third).
Fitted with a strong Lester Owen BMW engine which was rebuilt before the 2023 season and has had 20 hours running since. The gearbox is a Hewland FT200 by PDS Racing using an original type casting. Gelscoe Motorsport meticulously go through the car after every race, and it has proven to be 100% reliable.
Complete with an excellent spares package including wheels, tyres, ratios and an additional long range fuel tank. Also a detailed history file, incorporating maintenance records and a current HTP which expires on 31st December 2025. Ideal for HSCC, Masters and many other high profile series worldwide. Tremendous value for money.
