Full description
This extremely rare sports racer has period and contemporary Goodwood history and has been fully rebuilt by specialists.
DRW was a low volume manufacturer of race cars from the late fifties until the early seventies, mainly Clubmans and Formula Junior. Only one of each mark was made.
The Mark 6 is Imp engined and utilises Lotus 23 suspension. Indeed it resembles a smaller version of the 23. The car was raced for two seasons by the factory, including running at Goodwood in 1965 and in the Guards Trophy. It then became a successful hillclimb and sprint contender until the mid-eighties, when it disappeared into storage for several years.
Now fully restored by Michael Hibberd Motor Engineers with new bodywork, suspension and a Shrigley Engineering full race engine which has only been dynoed since last refresh. The DRW has been invited to the Revival twice and the Members Meeting on one occasion. Being small and nimble it has proven to be competitive with larger engined cars, and it also has the advantage of rarity, making it attractive to event organisers.
Complete with period results, a full set of body moulds, suspension jigs, spare suspension, starter motor, 2 radiators, exhaust system and numerous running spares. A pristine and very competitively priced entry to some great events.
Michael Hibberd Motor Engineers have considerable experience of the DRW and would be available to run the car for its new owner if required.
