MG Midget/Sebring/Ashley 1964 1098 FIA historic race car

 

The car was originally built as a 1098cc mi MG Midget/Sebring/Ashley 1964 1098 FIA historic  midget FIA racer, with FIA/HTP Papers (expired in 2017). Although now fitted with Sebring forward hinging front end and Ashley Fastback hard top, complete with the car: bonnet,front wings,grille, front panel to convert back to FIA spec. 1098 race engine refreshed in 2019 just ahead of birket 6 hour race (Nick swift receipt for parts), (dyno print out) straight-cut close ratio gearbox, single Weber 45 (just been overhauled with WEBCON service Kit) tubular headers running into a large bore straight through exhaust, lowered fitted with competition springs, negative top trunnions, adjustable competition valved dampers, standard midget Front disc and Drum Rears with competition pads and linings, recent new brake and clutch master cylinders and fluid change, recent new wheel bearings. Full professional bolt in competition roll cage, Tillet composite race seat, Plumbed in fire extinguisher (serviced September 2023), weller steel competition wheels witted with Yokohama A048 tyres.

Recently Tested and run at donington park in September 2023.

Early days raced at the spa 6 hour and believed at other European events, even raced by Tony Jardine. Then found to be sold at the 2011 Nurburgring Coys auction. Following the auction sale spent time racing with the HRDC. 2019 following an Engine refresh and preparation the car was last used at the birket 6 hour. Acquired by myself in summer of 2023 recommissioned and prepared tested and run at donington in September 2023. The car is eligible for multiple events such as: HRDC, Equipe racing and Midget and sprite challenge.
