Ford Escort Twin Cam Mk1 BHRC Historic Rally, Class C2


Built new in 2006 for George Bryson and subject of a 2 year £20k rebuild by CAM Sport in Cwmgorse during 22/23 in readiness for the 2023 R.A.C. Although delays in an engine rebuild meant we could not enter. Having not only finished each RAC entered, It won its class on both occasions, finishing 20th O/A in 2007, plus many other top results.

Freshly painted, totally rot free Historic Gp4 steel arched professionally fabricated by Steven Nevin SKN Rally Services in Coleraine Northern Ireland, to Historic GP4 spec:
 
Top and Bottom rad cut out, Rad support corner gussets, Strut top plates, Bulkhead Gussets, Bulkhead plate 3 pc, under wing plates, Chassis bolt kits, Wide Gearbox tunnel, Strengthening Rails, ZF Diff tunnel, ZF Gearbox skid cover, ZF Gearbox mounts, Front Chassi skids, Chassis Floor skids, Rear chassis & Rear valance skid, Sill tube jacking points, MSA seat rails, Historic short 4 link boxes, round turrets, 13” tubs, Watts Tower, Firewall, Fuel tank base, Foam Filled Alloy Tank, Dry sump mount and Dry sump tank, Weld in Multi Point CDS cage, turret mounted with double door bars, roof bars, dash bar.  Freshly Raptor finished underneath with brand new Kevlar floor guards, Chrome steel quarter and rear bumpers, Christal headlights (with spare rectangular TC lights and grill)

Bilstien Gp4 fixed platform front struts on forest springs, alloy Gp4 hubs and studs, Bilstien rear turreted shocks, Multi Leaf springs Girling AR4 Rear Brake calipers with handbrake cable, additional  AP CP2383 Rear calipers, AP CP2631 Front brake Calipers, solid discs,  Ferrodo DS3000 Pads.
 
Drivetrain
 
Freshly rebuilt by Jondel all steel Lotus Twin Cam (Zero miles), brand new AP twin plate sintered clutch (Zero miles since rebuild), brand new TLE Manifold and system, Wospi starter and alternator, ZF 5 speed box (Zero miles since rebuild by Alan Coslett), Works Historic spec Fully Floating Atlas Axle, ZF LSD 5.1 CWP (Zero miles since rebuild). Watts Linkage, R.A.C.E. shafts, Thick wall tubes.      Re-plumbed throughout with brand new Black anodized braided dry sump and fuel hoses throughout.
 
Interior
 
Twin cowl flocked dash with 2 x Brantz Trip, works type dash with Stack rev counter, work type centre console with oil pressure gauge, temp gauges, Professional competition wiring, Bias Gp4 pedal box, Hydraulic fly off lever, Turn One Seats (out of date), New TRS 5 point belts, New extinguishers, helmet net, New Varley Redtop battery behind co drivers seat, Helmet net, Avanti map lights. 
Gp4 Fabs Black alloy Nav footrest.
 
Professionally built with finishing the 2023 RAC in mind. Having not been into the woods for a few years I wanted something that was going to be the very best in the 1600 Category, something that wasn’t too hard on brakes, engine, clutch,  transmission, tyres etc.
 
Turn key package with all the spec of a BD without the running costs, comes complete with a well thought out full spares package, MSUK Historic Vehicle ID logbook and MSA Historic papers (Not on a genuine TC V5).
