£1,750
Summary
Extremely rare piece. Price negotiable.
Full description
Lance Reventlow was born Lawrence Graf von Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow to Woolworth heiress, Barbara Hutton. He was step-son to Cary Grant, and one of the last people to speak to James Dean before Dean was killed in Salinas, on his way to a race meeting.
Reventlow's racing career started in European F2, driving Coopers.
He then developed the Chevy engined Scarab sports car which went on to great success in the USA.
His later F1 car, featured on this poster met with little success, being front engined when the competition was switching to rear.
Lance Reventlow died in a flying accident, aged 32, in 1976.
The car in this hellish rare poster is now in the hands of Mr. Julian Bronson, Gentleman Historic Racer, and is being campaigned with considerable success.
The poster was printed in very small numbers in 1962, measures 41x27 inches, and has been conservation backed.
