Full description
Low mileage 3.8 litre engine removed from a crashed Mk2 Jaguar many years ago.
The engine number is LE 1466-8 and has the matching numbered cylinder head.
The block has the casting number C22250 and is date stamped 13-06-1964.
- The cylinder head and sump were removed to check the condition of the internals.
- The cylinder head and sump were cleaned and vapour blasted and the cam covers and inlet manifolds polished.
- The cylinder bores have little apparent wear and are still on the standard bore size.
- The main and big end bearing caps were removed to check the crank for any wear or damage. The crank journals are standard size.
- All parts were loosely reassembled and the engine has been an office ornament for over 25 years.
It will need to be completely stripped and rebuilt as it has stood for so long but is all in very good condition for age.
Also included are the original pair of carbs and complete air filter assembly.
Note that the price of a new block alone now from Jaguar Landrover is £14,340 !
