Full description
Coined by Mercedes-Benz as “The Silver Arrow of The 21st Century” and designed with inspiration from its 1955 300 SLR predecessor, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren utilises the fusions of two ground-breaking manufacturers to deliver breath-taking performance in a previously unseen package. It’s a truly unique spectacle and few cars have come close to offering everything the SLR can.
Each design detail has a specific technical function too, for maximum performance. Various air duct systems create a partial vacuum and ultimately negative lift underneath the whole car. This pressure is directly converted into traction, ensuring impressive ride stability. The aibrake boosts this effect too and ensuring a sensational drive from its 5.4L Supercharged V8, every time.
Over and above the ground-breaking nature of the SLR, was a specialist German tuning outift named ‘MKB’ that managed to squeeze even more performance out of the it with some carefully considered upgrades. What you are looking here at is an incredibly fine example of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with this MKB equipment, that has covered a mere 4,242 miles from new. First registered in Germany in 2005, this car is a 2005 example that came to the UK in 2016, after spending most of its life as part of a collection.
The upgrades on this car offer a significant power hike over the standard car, and results in a total output power of 730BHP and a staggering 900nm of torque. This is good for changing its total top speed to a sense-altering 217mph! The list of components changed to achieve this includes MKB sport camshafts with upsized valve lift and adapted valve springs, modified intake and exhaust ports, a modified supercharger, MKB Modified exhaust system for a lower exhaust back pressure, MKB Sport air filter system and some MKB Software programming to the ignition and injection mapping.
Finished in Crystal Laurite Silver paintwork over a Black and Red leather interior, this is a truly well-cared-for car. On the outside, 19” Turbine Alloys complement the paintwork beautifully, and you’ll notice the MKB upgrades are signified at the rear with an ‘SLRR+’ emblem.
Open up those incredible butterfly style doors and in the cabin you’ll find Carbon Fibred based seats along with Bluetooth Connectivity, Telephone Pre-Wire with Hands Free Facility and Electric Door Mirrors too.
