To be offered by Iconic Auctioneers on Saturday 18th May at Sywell Aerodrome.

Guide Price: £230,000 - £260,000

The highly exclusive Audi R8 GT was introduced in 2010 and limited to 333 examples worldwide. It was seen as the ultimate embodiment of the iconic mid-engined supercar, however, a successor, the R8 V10 GT RWD arrived in late 2022 (Week 48) and was again limited to 333 units globally, with only 15 examples bound for the UK. The GT RWD  is a track-focused 'halo' model with many bespoke performance and design features and is powered by Audi's legendary high-revving 5.2-litre V10  generating 620PS (612bhp) and 565Nm of torque, and offering 0-62mph in a remarkable 3.4 seconds on its way to 199mph. It was paired with a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission with even faster shifting times and was fitted with a 'rear torque mode' offering seven different settings enabling different levels of  precise and controlled oversteer. The GT RWD marked the final farewell to the V10 as it was not to return after R8 production was closed.

On offer here is a UK supplied right-hand drive example, that was indicating 112 miles from new on the odometer at the time of cataloguing and is being offered by its only owner. Registered on the 10th August 2023, the car is finished in Suzuka Grey and is number 320 of the 333 produced  and one of the 15 UK cars.

The specification is impressive and includes;

  • 20" 10-spoke, black alloys with red/white nameplate
  • Performance sport suspension with CFRP stabiliser
  • Ceramic brakes in red
  • Carbon-fibre-reinforced ceramic re 19-inch high-performance brake system with front brake discs made of carbon-fibre-reinforced ceramic with specially developed cooling channels, internally ventilated, perforated and floating. 6 piston front, 4 piston rear
  • 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission with shorter gear ratios
  • Torque rear mode. 7 different torque modes allowing increasing amounts of rear wheel slippage
  • Carbon fibre aero kit. Carbon side blades. Carbon mirror housing. Carbon engine cover
  • Intake manifold in black. Gloss black exhaust pipes. LED headlights, darkened with Audi laser light and dynamic indicator.
  • R8 GT Bucket seats. Fine Nappa leather/ Alcantara bucket seats with Express Red contrast stitching, R8 GT logo embroidered onto the seat backrest in Express Red.
  • Red seatbelts. R8 performance Alcantara/leather steering wheel with multifunction plus and 4 control satellites ( Audi drive select, the engine start-stop function, the Torque Rear mode (R8 GT-specific), and the engine sound)
  • Carbon inlays and centre console. Numbering 320/333 on centre console.
  • Carbon doorsill trims with illuminated R8 GT logo.
  • Diamond-stitched Alcantara headlining in black
  • Bang & Olufsen sound system with integrated head restraint speakers

Presenting, as you would expect for what is essentially a new car, this is a potentially significant car in Audi’s illustrious history given it’s their last normally-aspirated V10 supercar and their most powerful rear-wheel-drive car ever made. Taking this into account, along with the fact that they only made 15 for the UK market, this is an extremely rare and interesting proposition, one that may not come along again any time soon.
