Technical info

Full description

Following on from Pininfarina's celebratory 550 Barchetta, the Ferrari 575 Superamerica was designed by Pininfarina as an exclusive low volume V12 Ferrari Berlinetta featuring a highly original, innovative take on the convertible concept. The Superamerica was the first production car to adopt an innovative rotating roof movement in combination with electrochromic technology developed exclusively for glass surfaces of these dimensions in partnership with glass-manufacturers, Saint Gobain. The Fioravanti-patented rotating roof concept allows the Superamerica driver to electrically drop the top in 10 seconds flat, making one of the world's fastest convertibles with a 201 MPH top speed.

The Superamerica's unusual electric roof was dubbed 'Revocromico' to highlight the unique combination of its rearward rotation movement and electrochromic technology. It has a carbon-fibre structure and the boot capacity remains unchanged whether the roof is open or closed too. The glass rear window also acts as a highly effective wind deflector when the roof is open. The use of electrochromic glass means that the driver can completely control the level of light entering the cockpit. There are five tint levels available and the glass can go from dark to light in under a minute, at the touch of a button. Derived from the 575M Maranello, the Superamerica was enhanced to deliver 540 hp.

This example was supplied new by by H.R. Owen Ferrari of Brompton Road on 17th January 2007. One of just 559 Examples built and just 62 UK supplied examples, this Superamerica was optioned new in the highly desirable Rosso Corsa Fer. 322 over a Nero hide. The interior further sees Rosso carpets and a Rosso central rev counter which break up an otherwise subtle interior. Additionally this example sports the optional and sought-after HGTC package ("Handling Grand Turismo Competizione") which includes Carbon Ceramic brakes, a firmer suspension system, and "Snaps" style sports exhaust system.

Today this remarkable example presents with just 301 miles from new, as supported by its 12 main dealer service stamps and MOT history. With one recorded keeper from new, this 575 Superamerica has be carefully stored and meticulously serviced as a part of a significant collection from new. Today this incredible timewarp example presents as it would have in 2007, accompanied by its original book pack tool kit, and is available to view at our showrooms just outside London immediately.

I like the platform that Harry, Arran and the team have set up. As people with a background in motorsport they know what the seller and buyer is looking for and that reflects in how easy to navigate the site is and how easy it is to get in touch with sellers.
