Full description

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was intended to marry understated styling and spectacular performance to a new level. Named in honour of Sergio Scaglietti, Ferrari's seminal coachbuilder of the 1950's and the "Maestro of Aluminium", the 612 features several styling homages to the coachbuilder's work such as the scalloped sides that are a reference to the 375 MM made specially for Ingrid Bergman. The car's performance figures were equally impressive the car is easily capable of 195 MPH and travels to 60 mph in less than 4.3 seconds while at the same time providing a practical 2+2 alternative to the 575 MM with which it shared its V12 engine. The 612 was a marked improvement on its extremely popular predecessor the 456M GT. The 612 is 60kg lighter yet 60% more structurally rigid meaning that the 612 is a far better handling car than the 456. The 612 also offers comfortable room for four adults with 139mm more legroom than in the 456. In the boot, the car has room for two sets of golf clubs or a five-piece Ferrari luggage set while the luggage capacity of 240 litres (45% more than the 456) was certainly class-leading.

Ferrari later released the 612 Scaglietti “One to One” model, allowing the customer to personalise the vehicle to “Create something special for yourself”. Each car featured unique specifications differing from the next, however, the OTO model featured Carbon Ceramic brakes, an Electrochromic Panoramic roof, an updated F1 SuperFast gearbox that would later be installed in the 599, and a Manettino dial as standard. The One to One program would later evolve into Ferrari's Tailor Made program.

This example was first supplied to the UK in June 2009, in the stunning combination of Nero Daytona over a Beige hide. The first owner took every advantage of Ferraris's “One to One” programme; it had such a high specification that it cost £237,250.00 when new. The options included Daytona seats, Carbon interior trim, extended leather parcel shelf, Electrochromatic rear-view mirror, Brushed front grille, front and rear parking sensors, Satellite navigation, rear parking camera, Scuderia wing shields, Giallo rev counter, as well as the factory-installed HGT2 handling package including 20” wheels, uprated suspension and a sports exhaust from the factory.

Having sold this example on three previous occasions, including to noted car collector Lord Bamford; it is a pleasure to once more have the car in stock. In May of this year the car was put through an annual service by a noted ferrari specialist, during which the upper ball joints were also replaced totaling almost £3,800.00. In the same month the vehicle was also sent to Maranello Ferrari Egham for a factory recall relating to the brake resevoir. The car presents in truly wonderful condition today and surely has to be one of the very best currently available. Accompanied by all original books, the spare key and its commendable service history are documented in the file provided with the car. This fantastic example has covered just 15,951 miles from new and is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately and is located at our showrooms just outside London.
